Summer Rayne was researching toxins in sewage sludge, identifying aquatic insects, revitalizing rainforests, and mapping invasive species when she was came up with the notion that the fashion industry might be the ideal venue to disseminate environmental awareness. So she slung her hiking boots up and took a trip to New York City where she forged a career in combining her environmental expertise with modeling. Having worked with brands from Payless to Modo eyewear, Oakes has been integral in helping develop leading green products and services. As Co-founder of Source4Style, Summer Rayne together with her team seek to create the necessary infrastructure to make sustainable design accessible to all designers.
