Emma Bowen
Emma currently teaches in the School of Art and Design History and Theory and the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons The New School for Design as a member of Adjunct Faculty. Her interests consistently weave design together with social purpose, community empowerment, and sustainability, and range from traditional Inca textiles to the visual culture of nomadic peoples. Over the past several years, Emma has also collaborated and worked in varying capacities with many artisan-support organizations and businesses. Emma received a Master of Arts degree in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons The New School for Design, in conjunction with Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Studies from Connecticut College.
