Fair Trade: Materials produced under fair and ethical working conditions, including fair payment for producers and reinvestment into the community. These materials are often certified by the Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO) or the International Federation for Alternative Trade (IFAT).
Handmade: Made or prepared by hand or by a hand process rather than a machine.
Organic: Grown without the use of GMO seed, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or exfoliants at any point during its growing season. All suppliers with the organic icon are certified organic suppliers.
Recycled: Made in some significant percentage with materials that are recovered from a waste stream. Source4Style will denote what percentage of the material contains recycled content – and whether it is post-consumer or pre-consumer recycled content.
Vertically-Integrated: All stages of production – from the acquisition of raw materials to the creation of the final material – are controlled by one company and contained in one local region.
We work closely with all of our suppliers to curate their best material offerings and verify their sustainable product attributes. From recycled alternative suede from Japan to natural color cottons from Peru, we source the globe to showcase only the very best.
